The inspection fee is only one part of the possible total
The amount you pay can include the inspection itself and, if defects are found, separate repair work and possibly reinspection. Before booking, ask the facility what its inspection fee includes and whether any reinspection policy or additional shop charges apply.
Vehicle type and inspection class can affect the work involved
Passenger vehicles, commercial vehicles and other classes can have different inspection requirements. Confirm that the facility is authorized for the type of inspection your vehicle needs before comparing price.
Repairs should be quoted separately
An inspection result can identify items that need repair before the vehicle can pass. The inspection fee should not be treated as an all-inclusive repair price. Ask for a written estimate before authorizing additional work.
Compare more than the lowest advertised price
Location, appointment timing, facility authorization, repair capability and how clearly the shop explains the process can matter as much as the starting inspection fee. A lower inspection price is not automatically a lower final ownership cost if follow-up work is required elsewhere.
