Public legal document

Cookie Policy

WrenchFinder uses essential storage, a consent-gated Mapbox map, and optional first-party analytics and campaign attribution controlled by your privacy choices.

Status: Public beta legal draft — publication metadata and counsel review are still pending where applicable.

1. How the consent system works

On a first visit, you can Accept All, Reject Non-Essential, or Customize. Essential storage is always active because it is needed for security and core features. Your record stores policy version 2026-09-02, the decision date and time, and each category choice. A new choice replaces the previous one.

The choice is stored in your browser in local storage and a first-party cookie for up to six months. Clearing browser data removes the local record and causes the banner to appear again. You can reopen settings using the button above.

2. Categories

CategoryPurposeCurrent status
EssentialAuthentication, security, consent records, and core request/session functions.Always active

AnalyticsFirst-party measurement of aggregate traffic, journeys, booking-flow events, performance, and feature use.Off until Analytics consent is allowed

WrenchFinder does not currently load third-party advertising pixels for remarketing or cross-site behavioural profiling through this system. Marketing attribution is first-party and consent-gated.

4. Measurement and attribution data

With Analytics consent, WrenchFinder may record first-party events such as page, service, shop, form, booking, and quote interactions using an anonymous session identifier. Analytics-only measurement does not retain campaign source, advertising click identifiers, or referrer attribution.

With Marketing consent, WrenchFinder may additionally record campaign source, medium, campaign, content, term, permitted advertising click identifiers, and the referring host. Landing-page measurement stores the path rather than the full query string. A consented marketing session may be linked to a booking request so the selected shop can see aggregate marketing performance.

5. Browser and device controls

You can change optional choices at any time through Cookie Preferences. Withdrawing Marketing consent removes the WrenchFinder marketing session cookie; rejecting both Analytics and Marketing also clears the browser-tab measurement session where available. You can also block or delete cookies through browser settings. Doing so may sign you out, remove saved consent, or prevent parts of the platform from working.

6. Future tools and changes

Adding a materially different analytics, advertising, remarketing, or marketing technology requires a product and privacy review, an updated disclosure and policy version, and any consent required before it loads. A stored choice will not be treated as consent to a materially different or previously undisclosed tool or purpose.

Essential storage keeps WrenchFinder running. Functional consent enables the optional shop map. Analytics measures aggregate use, while marketing consent allows campaign attribution so shops can understand which advertising led to a booking. Cookie Policy
