Understand estimates and repair pricing

Know the difference between marketplace information, an estimate and authorized repair work.

Content reviewed:

Marketplace information is not a final invoice

Prices or service information shown while searching are not a substitute for the shop confirming the actual repair scope for your vehicle.

Ask what the estimate includes

Confirm labour, parts, taxes and any diagnostic or additional charges directly with the independent shop.

  1. Describe the vehicle and issue accurately.
  2. Ask whether the amount is an estimate or fixed quoted scope.
  3. Ask what can cause the amount to change.
  4. Approve additional work only after you understand the change.

Payments stay with the shop

Current repair payments and refunds are handled directly between the customer and the independent shop unless WrenchFinder explicitly introduces a separate payment feature for that transaction.
