General Coach Acquires Prolite Assets, Plans Ontario Trailer Production

Prolite's ultralight trailer range is set to move to Hensall, Ontario, with manufacturing targeted for the end of November.

The update

General Coach Canada has acquired the assets of the Prolite brand, according to an October 1 announcement published by CRVA on October 2. Production is set to move from Saint-Jérôme, Quebec, to General Coach's operations in Hensall, Ontario.

The company says it intends to retain Prolite's existing models and lightweight design approach. It estimates that manufacturing in Hensall will begin by the end of November, making that a target rather than a completed production milestone.

The announcement also describes plans to work with Prolite's existing dealer network and support current customers.

For owners and prospective buyers, the practical question is how the transition affects an individual trailer. Ask the dealer to confirm delivery timing, parts contacts and warranty arrangements in writing. The asset-acquisition announcement does not itself establish the handling of every existing warranty or order.
