Toyota Canada Reports 15,077 Electrified Sales in September

Toyota and Lexus electrified deliveries reached a September record, but the category includes more than battery-electric vehicles.

The update

Toyota Canada reported 15,077 electrified vehicle sales for September 2026, up 49.8 percent from a year earlier. In its October 1 release, the company said electrified models represented 67.1 percent of its overall September deliveries.

Year-to-date electrified sales reached 130,369 units, already above the company's full-year 2025 total of 123,879. These figures cover Toyota Canada Inc., including Toyota and Lexus.

Electrified should not be read as battery-electric. The company's reporting includes conventional hybrids as well as plug-in vehicles. It separately reported 10,114 battery-electric and plug-in hybrid sales during the third quarter.

For shoppers, the distinction is more useful than a single headline share: different powertrains bring different charging requirements and ownership routines. The figures show the direction of one manufacturer's Canadian sales, not the market share of EVs across Canada or the availability of any individual model at a local dealer.
