Volkswagen ID.Tiguan Preview: What Is Confirmed, and What Canada Still Needs

Volkswagen's ID4 successor moves closer to launch. Canadian pricing, range ratings and availability remain unconfirmed in the report.

The update

MotorTrend's October 9 update reports that Volkswagen will replace the ID4 name with ID.Tiguan. Europe is due to receive the electric SUV in early 2027; the publication describes a later North American arrival as a 2028 model, while noting that Volkswagen has not formally detailed the U.S. launch.

The cabin brings back physical climate controls and separate switches for all four windows. These changes could matter as much as the new styling to drivers who found the outgoing touch-heavy interface frustrating.

The report's range figure uses Europe's WLTP cycle. It is not a Canadian rating, and projected U.S. trims and prices are not confirmed Canadian specifications.

For Canadian shoppers, the useful next announcement will be local equipment, charging details, warranty coverage and delivery timing. Until then, treat the ID.Tiguan as an upcoming model to watch, rather than an order-ready Canadian offer.
